Company Christmas Video

It’s hard for me to delegate tasks. I’m a bit of a control freak and so I try to do everything myself. I just have this notion in my head that I’ll be able to do it better than someone else. This even goes for situations where I clearly can’t do it better than someone else, like when my work used the post production services of a local agency to create our Christmas video. Even though deep down I knew that I wasn’t the right person for the job, I still really wanted to tackle it on my own. I was just worried that they wouldn’t do our company justice. Of course, I was wrong. They did a great job.

The video was intended to showcase everything we had achieved this year as a company. We wanted it to make us seem relatable, like we were riding the ups and downs of the year like everyone else, and that we’re coming out the other side now that it’s Christmas. We managed to do really well this year despite everything, but we know that a lot of people didn’t. We didn’t want to appear insensitive, but we also wanted to show people that we had done well. The end result made me feel relieved hadn’t tried to do it all myself, and that my boss had insisted I look into a video production company for hire. Melbourne business owners, I highly recommend doing the same.

While I do have some video editing experience, what they created was genius. It was the perfect mix of boasting our achievements and acknowledging that it’s been hard this year. We’ll definitely be going back to them in the future. It’s nice that we can have a production team in our back pocket ready to use whenever we want. And that’s saying a lot coming from me, the King of anti-delegating.

All in all, I’m very much looking forward to the Christmas season and Christmas break. Seeing as I take on so many extra responsibilities, I feel the need for a break more than anyone.
