Repairing things is something that I’ve always been passionate about. I have so much fun repairing literally anything and everything. In the majority of cases, the harder the item to repair, the more I enjoy it. I thrive when presented with a challenge and I welcome them. Wow, the way I’m talking about all this, I should put it on my resume. Maybe I should be one of those people that quits their job day job and becomes someone that just goes to people’s houses and fixes things for cash. It could be a good side hustle.
Now that you know about my passion for fixing things, you can imagine how excited I was when my air conditioner broke. As soon as my husband called me to let me know, I began tingling with eagerness. I couldn’t wait to get home and fix my air conditioner! To be frank, I’m certainly no expert in air conditioning repairs. Canberra is my home city and home to some seriously skilled repairmen, so I knew I could call on them if I needed, but I was hoping I could figure it out on my own.
After hours of trying to fix my air con, it became apparent that I couldn’t do it and that I needed professional help. I decided that if I was going to give up and employ someone else to do it for me, then I may as well get someone to also do my heater repairs. Canberra has notoriously inconsistent weather, which means that we’ll need both systems to be in working order again soon, so I decided to swallow my pride and let someone else fix the things in my house for me.
When the repairmen were over, my dog got scared and broke a vase whilst running away. I pretended to be upset when I picked up the pieces, but my mind was racing thinking about which type of super glue I’d need to stick it back together and how I’d do it. It won’t be quite as challenging as repairing an air con, but I’m excited.
